Robert D. Kessler, National Business Agent Daniel Skemp, National Business Agent This “clerk page” will be utilized to provide information and notices to Locals, stewards, and members specific to the Arkansas, Iowa, and Missouri tri-state. (Kansas and Nebraska clerks are certainly welcome to any and all information provided; however, any questions should be directed to your Wichita Region NBA, Christine Pruitt.) ___________________________________________
ATTENTION CLERKS FROM SMALL OFFICES AND STATE OFFICERS & STEWARDS
The Postal Service is cutting budgets and instructing their Postmasters to cut hours and perform more work – in your place. If your hours have been cut you should immediately contact your state union representatives or this office and we will in turn direct your problem to the appropriate individual. It is a blatant violation to shift bargaining unit work from clerks to postmasters due to budget cuts or to increase their performance of bargaining unit work while cutting your hours – without operational justification. The most common operational justification would be a decline in mail volume WITHOUT a corresponding increase in the amount of work they perform in your place.
Nice TACS Arbitration Award |
|
Sam Lisenbe got this nice TACS award in San Antonio, TX. We need to make sure we are protecting all work in the clerk craft. If you are a Lead Clerk you need to make sure you are doing the TACS work. If you are a Lead Clerk who doesn't want to do the TACS work, it is time for you to bid a different job. This is no different than bidding an SSDA job and refusing to work the window.
